BiaBed

I have had big problems with my last couple of BiaBeds, the fabric just cracks in the middle of the bed just months after they turns 2 years old (to old for reclamation that is). I wrote to the company to ask how to deal with this but didn’t get any solution, so I decided that I have bought my last BiaBed and since the foam rubber is still intact on the ones we have I can just make own covers for them. I looked at buying a new one at first, but since the fabric is the same and it costs almost the same as a new bed of the same brand I decided it wasn’t worth it. I will add all steps here so I can go back and have a look on how to make them and also for you that have the same problem/want to have some other color to the one you have.

It’s a shame they don’t want to do more for their costumers, I have had these beds for my dogs since 1995 and the quality then was much better. They lasted for 6-7 years at least and that fits better with the company’s ”We make beds that will last for the whole lifetime of your dog”. As far as I know dog’s have an average lifespan of around 10 years (depending on breed) and not 2 years, the later is more like the lifespan of an syrian hamster…

  1. Measure all sides of the bed, the easiest way to do this is to just take of the cover and turn it inside out/Mät alla sidor av bädden, det lättaste är att bara ta av överdraget och vända det in och ut.
  2. Cut out the pieces and zig zag around them, here I re-used the bottom piece with the zipper from the original bed.
  3. Put together all sides / Sy ihop alla sidorna
  4. Pin the middle piece of the bed (where the dog are supposed to sleep) to the smaller hole created by the side pieces.
  5. Attach the bottom piece on the bigger hole. / Gör samma med bottendelen som med mittendelen.
  6. Done! /Klar!
